This food dehydrator is all that I wanted, except that it doesn't have a timer. Too bad. But works well. And I do have a separate timer, so it's not a big issue.

I read all the Amszon reviews and felt fairly confident in purchasing this particular machine. While it was working, it was great. The temperature settings are the best feature by far, but... I used this just under a month and was so pleased with everything I had dehydrated to that point. I make my own chicken & beef strip dog treats from local animals, so I know they are safe for my dogs. The FD-75PR 700-watt did an awesome job on the jerky as well as fruits, vegetables, and herbs. On the 28th day o

I was extremely impressed with this dehydrator initially. The first batch of jerky and first batch of dried kiwis I made were perfect and delicious. but 48 hours later the fan stopped running.

What a disappointment.

I returned this unit because it was much bigger than I expected and I really didn't have anywhere to keep it.

We purchased this dehydrator as our diets have changed over the years and we are trying to eat more Raw and less processed foods. This machine was great for about 1 week. We now have an issue where the bottom tray deformed from the heat and the top trays can not sit on top of them evenly. Disappointed customer.

We purchased this dehydrator about 15 years ago. What a wonderful unit the design is fantastic as each try dried evenly and with out my standing over it rotating product. The unit finally gave up, it had put in many many hours and was well used. The new base however is much poorer quality and does not have the adjustable fan. Quess that is how it goes now a days nothing seems to be built like it used to be. The new base is still running ok and the design is still superior to the box type dryers. I wou

Did not arrive in working order. Learned it would be cheaper to send it in for repairs rather than pay for the shipping back again.
Did not have a serial number on the machine, which is causing a problem with the warranty. The price was good, but not if the
products are defective.

The Nesco American Harvest dehydrator is an excellent value. Using it is so simple and obvious, instructions are hardly needed. It cleans up quickly and easily and it does a good job at drying food. It's also expandable. I can't remember the last time that a product was fast, cheap AND good! I know a lot of people hate to have "uni-taskers" in their kitchen but this one is worth it. Drying in ovens has always been a bit more involved than I care for.

It makes no more noise than you'd reasonably

Reason for "par" rating is no fault of Amazon. Product arrived with some damage, supports between several vents in top were broken. This was most likely due to packaging. I was in desparate need of device so I glued it back together rather than attempt to return it. After repair made it has functioned as implied and I have been pleased with results. This product qualified for "free-shipping" and I was very surprised (Pleasantly) at the speed it was delivered. Amazon has lived up to my expectations in several purchases. I will continue to recommend them.

Do not buy this dehydrator. After three uses, the fan became markedly noisier; during the fifth use, the fan and heating elements quit entirely! NESCO's warranty only offers the opportunity to spend more money on a defective product. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

This dryer was one of the best things I have bought in a long
time. The one I had previous took twice as long to dry than this model
I made batches of jerkey and it was done in half the time of the old one .I think thats do to the rotation of
the TIERs,how long will it last is a matter of time i hope forever,if not I will purchase another.

The trays are made of #7 plastic if I knew I would not purchase this. I am an organic vegan converting to raw and it makes no sense to eat food with BPA leeched into it =(. I am going to save up for an excalibur realizing this doesn't really hold that much.

I bought this one because it was the only one I could find in several stores. I am satisfied with it given the price of $29.95. Yes, it is the lowest end of the dehydrator world but I have been satisfied with all but one thing. The resulting goo from wetter fruits and tomatos gets stuck in the tray's open webbing and is a pain to wash since the trays don't easily fit into my sink. Also, I do a lot of herbs and the smaller leaves often slip through the holes and end up in the bottom.

I was in the market to buy a dehydrator and the only one in town that was available was this one at my local KMART. I bought it for $50 bucks, it also came with the ronco jerky gun, which i've used in the past on different dehydrators, and have to say the ronco jerky gun is a awesome buy, very nice. However this dehydrator is not the case what so ever. After making two batches on it i would occasionaly hear a crack or pop sound but i didnt know what that was until i went to clean the trays with warm wate

I thought I'd save some $...don't waste yours!I grew up with a "homemade" dehydrator that my parents made in the 70s (screen trays with a fan and light bulbs). I grew up on delicious dehydrated fruits, leathers (now called "roll-ups") so I wanted to share the experience with my family. After dealing with burnt foods (yes, I said BURNT!), and dealing with rotating and re-stacking the trays I realized that my time was worth the extra money for a REAL dehydrator! I recommend the Excalibur models!

I absolutely live my dehydrator. My only wish is that it will be available in travel size in the future lol. It doesn't haves timer but being able to control the temperature gives a peace of mind and promotes conscious eating.

I left a review for this product back in March but somehow it was moved to another listing. I'll attempt leaving the review again with the hopes of saving another unsuspecting buyer from wasting his/her money:

I don't have a lot of space and thought that this 4 tray dehydrator would be the perfect solution. This thing is JUNK!!! The temperature control is completely inaccurate. On top of that, it only worked about 10 times before the heat failed completely. I tried the reset instructions to no
