I love it and want another one dying all the summer foods. You still have to rotate trays because the food trays in the back dry faster and the food on the 3rd and forth shelves dry the fastest. Unless there is a better one, I love this one.

I was very excited about ordering what appears to be the best dehydrator on the market for home use. I had seen the review about the fan stopping after a few hours of use, but didn't really think it would happen to me. Fortunately, for the first trial run I just put in some frozen corn and frozen mixed vegetables, which at least didn't take long to prepare. Sure enough, after a couple of hours the fan stopped working. I was glad that I had ordered it from Amazon which made it easy to return. I have sin

Just as others before, the fan stopped working about two hours after use. I AM SO FRUSTRATED. Over $200 and rated "the best", and yet they can't make a fan that works for more than two hours? Excuse me excalibur, but this is unacceptable.

My tired old round dehydrator finally gave out so I started looking around for a replacement. I found the raw food community seemed to really like this one and the reviews here seemed to back that up so I ponied up more $$ than I've ever paid for a dehydrator. I am very happy with it. 15 square feet of drying racks is a lot! I made more jerky in 8 hours (2 batches) than I could have in 2 days with my old unit. Because of the airflow the jerky meat can be touching and it still dries great! I made a batch of

I started with the 9-tray Excalibur and it was too noisy for my small home. I sold it to a friend with a porch and bought the 4-tray model, which is much quieter.

I just bought this and the heating element does not work. The directions tell you to take it apart, and change the fuse. I am not a mechanic and I am not doing that. I should not have to fix a brand new machine I just paid for. This is a royal pain in the ass and a huge waste of time. By the time you figure out that it is not working, your food is ruined, and your day is shot. This thing is a piece of junk. I am very lost now, because this dehydrator is so highly recommended. What the heck am I going to buy now?

This was my first venture into dehydrating foods. After reading all of the reviews I made my choice to go with the Excalibur brand. I have been extremely pleased with the ease with which it works and the product it produces.
With the fan in the back, all of the fruit and vegetables placed on a single tray appear to be drying at the same speed so there is no need to rotate the tray from front to back, However, I have found that when I have all 5 trays loaded, I need to rotate the trays vert

Like our larger dehydrator, the D-10 now comes with a removable back panel, attached to the sides of the unit with latches. By allowing the back panel to be separated from the machine, cleaning and routine maintenance procedures are quick and painles... read more

I appreciate that this model blows air from the back of the racks. This ensures that food dries quickly, thoroughly, and safely. Other styles blow air from the bottom, therefore up through the layers, creating moist air conditions at the top racks. I don't trust that for safe food preservation. This unit is fast, fast, fast! And it is easy to clean. The fruit/veggies maintain beautiful colors and flavors. Highly recommend this unit.
