This dehydrator is exactly as advertised, easy to use, pretty quite and easy clean up. The Jerky gun and seasoning were an added bonus - never even thought of making jerky with lean ground meat. This jerky gun is like a cookie shooter, just makes the jerky flat or in round tubes. I have only used the flat strips, have zero complaints. My husband took a batch of jerky made from lean ground beef on his dove hunt, they could not believe it was ground beef - they loved it. I have also used the dehydrator f

Never did this type of food processing before. Love the results. Apples, tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchini all dried at 145 degrees and took anywhere from 10-14 hours. How thin the slice is how fast they dry. You will never believe the flavor produced by drying. Vegetables are very naturally salty that you may never add salt to your food again. Will be ordering more trays soon.

I bought this with a gift card from our wedding. I had often wanted to make my own jerky, but did not want to spend money on a dehydrator if it did not turn out good.

I received the kit and thawed out some ground venison. I tried the included seasonings and my own recipe. They both were great. The machine works quietly and efficiently. The temp settings on top are great. Everything is easy to use and easy to clean.

If you want to start dehydrating...BUY THIS KIT!

My husband and I wanted a dehydrator to help us eat better. We have tried drying all kinds of fruit, vegies, and meat. Our favorite is golden delicious apples. We dry them extra crisp so they come out like round chips. We are addicted to them and so is our friends, family and co-workers. I plan on drying some more and giving them away as christmas presents for my co-workers. We like them so much that we use the dehydrator daily. We bought the dehydrator almost a year ago and it is still in great shap

I love this thing. The trays and screens are currently soaking in my tub with some soap so I can dry my latest round of backpacking food for the summer.

I bought this product for a month-long backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada. I'd previously eaten freeze-dried food, but honestly - the stuff isn't that good, is expensive, and there's never enough. On this trip I ate home-dried fresh fruit (it's hard to find good dried bananas, pears, and pineapple - but easy now!), spaghetti with deliciou

I would have given this 5 stars however, the ONE thing I wanted to make with this dehydrator the most takes about twice as long as they claim it should. My main intention was to make my own raisins. However, it takes about 24 hours to dry them out...when in the manual is says 6-12.

Everything comes out great though, that I have made so far. Bananas, apples, strawberries, kiwi and eventually the grapes!!! But it is very quiet, easy to clean. I have already used it 3 times in the past mont

My Jenny Craig consultant recommended any good dehydrator so I could make zucchini chips to eat with salsa - count as free food on the plan. I looked up reviews for all sorts of dehydrators and the most consistent ones came for this Nesco. I tried different thicknesses of zucchini to see which would work best as chip, and it was about 1/4-1/3 of an inch. I sprinkled Mrs. Dash Extra spicy on some and Lime Fiesta on others before drying, and they are good, and stay fresh for a while if sealed. Product easy

This dehydrator works great. I have made jerky three times in one month and it has performed well everytime. Quick drying time, 3-4 hours. I have only used ground beef and the gun so far but I am very pleased. Would recommend very highly. The only thing I was confused about is there is no on and off switch. You have to unplug it while it is still running. Being an electrician I find this to be a bad habit, but I understand other dehydrators are the same way. Regardless this is a great price, and product. The

The operation is easy--the spices that are included were used in this jerky--we probably will purchase more of the spice mix--would recommend it to anyone

Great product. Selling point was the heater in the lid instead of bottom. Makes this dehydrator easier to keep clean and certainly dries all products faster. Only drawback is no on and off switch on the machine but using a plug strip with an on and off switch works just fine instead. Definately a winner.

It performed very well in making jerky, though needs added trays to do more than about 3 lbs of meat at one time.

Really my only dissapointment was the feeling of being conned by the large "Made in USA" advertisement on the outside of the box. You can feel the pbysical quality is better than most completely China-made versions, but to my surprise, on the bottom of the dehydrator lid component (where the heater and fan blower are encased) it says "MADE IN CHINA". Very disapointing.

I live in New Orleans, and this dehydrator works wonders even in the 100% humidity we often get during the summer. My first attempt, I overdried my turkey jerky, but it still tasted great. Also, as a fruit lover, but one who tends to buy in bulk, make trail mix, etc. it's great for drying fruit to take along.

My husband wanted this solely for making jerky. I made the first batch yesterday. It was so easy and the jerky tasted great! We didn't realize that you could use ground meat, never having had a dehydrator before, but that jerky was perfect. It only took 3 hours. We just love it. Can't wait to use it for dried fruits and vegetables.
Also, very easy cleanup and it runs without a lot of noise. You do hear the fan, but it is not loud.

After conducting tons of research, I found that this model was the best economically...especially since the family loves dehydrated food which can be VERY expensive in the stores. I just tried the beef jerky last weekend...and now everyone at work wants me to bring in more. This product is quiet, comes with plenty of racks for drying, includes a couple packets of seasoning for jerky, a book with good tips of dehydrating different types of food, and has variable speeds which allow you to change things up.

This is our first dehydrator and it meets our expectations. Have dried several fruits and herbs and made jerky. EVERYTHING turned out excellent. The machine is quiet and easy to manage. Also, it's a zip to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher. Overall we are well pleased and would readily recommend it. Since we didn't know anything about a dehydrator, we didn't want to choose something top of the line or bottom of the line. This seemed to fit about in the middle.

Works great. Quiet operation. This unit comes with five trays, so it handles a good amount at a time. I bought this to help with the 'end of the year' harvest from the garden. Dried chili peppers quickly and handled large batches - So much easier than freezing them. It is easy to clean. The only downside is that we've turned into jerky addicts. Every time I put it away, it ends up back in use within a few days.

The jerky gun works wonderfully and the recipe enclosed is just right (definitely only use extra lean beef otherwise you'll be blotting the jerky for a zillion years). If you plan on making fruit rollups buy extra trays for that purpose when you order this otherwise you'll be running the whole unit with only two trays in it.

This product works wonderfully for making your own jerky. Husband didn't follow the directions for the meat yet-he simply had steak sliced very thin at the meat department at our local grocery store. He then seasoned with his own spices and also tried the season packet on another batch.
Both jerky's were done within hours!
My vegan son is now trying to figure how to make a meatless jerky-we are getting close!
Haven't tried fruits yet, but I know that I will enjoy it when I do!
