How Does a Food Dehydrator Work?

A food dehydrator works by exposing food to constant heat temperatures for longer periods of time versus traditional cooking times and temperatures. A typical food dehydrator will maintain a temperature between 115 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (46 to 49 degrees Celsius) and the food dehydration process can take from several hours to twenty plus hours depending on the size and type of food being dried.
