Sweet And Spicy Jerky Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound of meat
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
Combine all the dry spices and seasonings in a bowl. Add 1/4 inch thick meat strips and toss and coat the strips. Place the covered bowl in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours. To make jerky safely, the USDA recommends preheating meat to a temperature of 160–165 °F prior to dehydrating at 140–150 °F in a food dehydrator.
