Why Dehydrate Food?

  • Save money. Buy food on sale, in bulk purchases, buy additional fruits and vegetables in season and or use all of your garden harvest. Use a food dehydrator to preserve the extra food and save money.
  • Great taste. In particular, drying fruits reduces the water content concentrates the fruit’s natural sugars and makes each bite a mouth watering burst of flavor.
  • Dehydrating is easy. There are three basic steps – wash, slice and dry. Food dehydrating is much easier than canning or freezing.
  • Save Space. Dried Foods substantially shrink as 80 to 90% of their water content is removed during dehydration. This makes dehydrated foods easier and smaller to store versus canned or frozen foods.
  • Dried foods are healthy. Drying largely preserves nutrients and enzymes and, unlike processed food, does not contain additives or preservatives.
